We are a family owned and operated Vancouver, Washington and Portland, Oregon based coffee roasting company located in the heart of Dole Valley Yacolt, near the base of Mt. St. Helens. Millars Wood Roasted Coffee has been in the specialty coffee business since 1989. Millar's Coffee uses a blend of ORGANIC, FAIR TRADE and 100% SUSTAINABLE high quality Arabica green beans. When roasting with the traditional, old world cast iron, Turkish drum roasters, heat is consistently radiated to bring out the full flavor of the beans without burning them. Each one of these batches are roasted by hand with meticulous attention to detail, insuring that each blend is perfect. We have specifically designed our coffee blends to be versatile enough to be used for espresso, as well as drip coffee.
The current coffee industry standard is to use petrolium products as the heat source for roasting. Millar's Coffee uses wood fire as its heat source, which was the standard roasting technique in Europe for centuries . Millar's Wood Roasted Coffee is produced using local select hardwoods. We do not believe in cutting down healthy growing timber for our roasting process. Instead, we use only trees that have been brought down by storms and other natural hazards.
