We at Millar's Coffee tend to think outside the box. This is one of the many reasons why we roast our espresso coffee beans with wood fire.
For hundreds of years, coffee beans were traditionally roasted using wood fire as a heat source. Most modern coffee roasting companies use propane as a heat source. While propane offers more convenience, wood fire offers the most traditional taste and quality.
What does this mean? The flavors and aromas from wood fire roasted coffee are like no other. Our product has subtle flavor properties that other micro roasters simply can't offer. Our roasting process imparts a slight smokey flavor, and a certain sweetness that cannot be acheieved using more modern methods of roasting.
We have spent years perfecting each blend, and our efforts have resulted in a gourmet product that our customers simply love. Millar's Coffee is committed to providing our customers with only the highest quality wood roasted coffee and espresso beans. To accomplish this, we use a custom modified Turkish coffee roaster with a built-in wood stove to roast our coffee beans. We also use only local hardwoods that have fallen due natural causes such as age or storm activity. This helps to further minimize our effect on the environment, and maximize the quality of our roasted coffee and espresso beans.
An analogy; Pizza cooked in a traditional brick oven is far better than pizza cooked in a modern oven. In the same way, coffee beans roasted using wood fire as a heat source are far better than coffee roasted using petroleum products, such as propane, as a heat source.
Our signature micro-roasted blends are shade grown with a blend of organic, fair trade, sustainable beans from around the globe. We only purchase the highest quality, high altitude coffees that have the least impact on our environment. Each handcrafted batch of coffee is cupped daily for consistent quality.Wood roasted coffee simply produces a superior roast that will keep you and your customers comming back for more.
The wood that powers our wood fired coffee roaster comes directly from our property. Only local select hardwoods, brought down by storms and other natural hazards, are used. We do not believe in cutting down healthy growing timber for fuel.
So you can relax and enjoy a cup of Millar’s with confidence. Together we can all do our part that’s best for our environment.
