We are a family owned and operated Vancouver, Washington Portland, Oregon organic coffee roasting company located in the heart of Dole Valley Yacolt, near the base of Mt. St. Helens. Millars Wood Roasted Coffee has been in the specialty coffee business since 1989. A cup of Millars Wood Roasted Coffee is the most unique and outstanding coffee you will ever drink and here is why.
Millar's Coffee uses a blend of 100% organic, fair trade and sustainable, high quality Arabica green beans. When roasting with a traditional, cast iron, Turkish drum roaster, heat is consistently radiated to bring out the full flavor of the beans without burning them. Each one of these batches are roasted by hand with meticulous attention to detail, insuring that each blend is perfect. We have specifically designed our organic coffee blends to be versatile enough to be used for espresso, as well as drip coffee.
The current coffee industry standard is to use petrolium products as the heat source for roasting. Millar's Coffee uses wood fire as its heat source, which was the standard roasting technique in Europe for centuries . Millar's Wood Roasted Coffee is produced using local select hardwoods. We do not believe in cutting down healthy growing timber for our roasting process. Instead, we use only trees that have been brought down by storms and other natural hazards.
When you buy Millar's Coffee, you're drinking something special. Nowhere else will you find small-batch hand roasted ORGANIC espresso coffee beans with such unique flavors. Our blends are developed to be versitile for both drip and espresso. With the unique flavor of hardwood roasted coffee, you will always be satisfied with our quality.
At Millar's Wood Roasted Coffee, all our Green (unroasted) organic coffee beans are barrel aged in 24 year old charred oak Kentucky bourbon barrels, for a minimum of 30 days. This process reduces the acid in the beans, and mellows the coffee before it is wood roasted.
Currently, Millar's Wood Roasted Coffee is the only organic coffee roaster in the United States to employ such a unique barrel aging process. The infused flavors are as remarkable as the process itself.
